Three reasons why students should drink tea

For something that is as simple to make as tea, it really does have quite a few benefits when it comes to studying. Next time you have a big essay to write or have to study before a final exam and plan on staying up late, consider making yourself a cuppa tea rather than a cuppa coffee. Here’s why:
1. Tea has caffeine in it which dilates a person’s blood vessels and as a result improves the blood flow to the brain, enhancing memory and allowing you to stay more focussed whilst studying.
2. Tea has L-theanine, an amino acid that when taken together with caffeine can significantly boost ones performance in cognitive tasks. Studies have shown that the consumption of L-theanine and caffeine together promote faster simple reaction times, faster numeric working memory reaction time and improved sentence verification accuracy.
3. Tea contains fluoride which strengthens tooth enamel and thus prevents tooth decay. So add tea drinking to your regular dental routine and those teeth will be shiny, white and strong.
