“The Man who quit money”

If you find its all getting a bit much, then take a look at what this man did. He decided that money was just an illusion, and to back up this belief he threw away his final $30 in 2000. Since then he has been living in caves around Moab desert in Utah living off the land. He not asocial, and participates in local politics and is active blogger. What are your thoughts? Is his whole idea of not living with money actually just one big strategy to make money in the long run by cashing in off the proceeds of the book? The irony. Or is that just cynical?
